Favorite digital tools; what follows includes some of their recommendations, but it is just the tip of the iceberg of what is available. Remember, as with any tool, what may work wonders for some students will only frustrate others. Customization is key with any app, so adults and educators should be prepared to put in some time learning the apps themselves or how to make modifications in the settings. Many apps come with great teacher-made materials; look for video tutorials, lesson plans, and extension activities.

COVID-19 Vaccine Video for Individuals with I/DD is a free, short video, prepared to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) know what to expect when they are able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The narrator of the video is Barbara Coppens, an extraordinary self-advocate who has received recognition in New Jersey and nationally, from The Arc of the United States, for her many years of advocacy on behalf of all individuals with I/DD.
Autism Certification Center (ACC) and Autism Speaks are teaming up to make 30+ hours of online video learning resources available at no cost for the autism community. Now through June 1, 2020, get free access to the Foundations of Evidence-Based Strategies courses with over 30 hours of video-based content.

This fillable pdf form was developed by Michelle Ballan, Ph.D. and Christina Perri, Stony Brook University with input from ER physicians and families, and designed to reduce healthcare barriers for patients with IDD. The NJ Department of Health (DOH) issued the hospital visitation policy for people with disabilities effective April 25, 2020. DOH now considers a designated support person essential to patient care for people with disabilities. As a result, hospitals must allow a designated support person to be with the individual during hospitalization.
