(908) 277-2932
Summit
Summit Community Programs provides a variety of recreation programs for youth with special needs with the assistance of TryCAN. In collaboration with several nearby communities, TryCAN helps to coordinate an array of recreation programs for youth with special needs or those who need special accommodation. Participants tend to be on the moderate or higher functioning scale of the autism spectrum or have similar developmental challenges.
We offer certain sports, social skills, and other developmental recreation. With the help of trained Peer Mentors, we help participants learn and have fun.
Examples of past programs include:
- Sports Skills (examples: basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, flag football, tennis)
- Social Skills (ages 3-5, 6-7, 8-12, 13-16)
- Dance and Movement
- Art
