Elizabeth Parent Support Group

The Elizabeth Parent Support Group is a support group that provides support, hosts activities, and provides resources to parents with children who have special needs to increase inclusion and community engagement. 

Food Assistance for Union County Residents

 Shoprite is offering gift cards to Shoprite for residents of Union County. Income guidelines range from 25K for a family of one to 70k for a family of six, which determines eligibility. Please see the chart for more information. Contact [email protected] for applications or call 908-354-3040.

Microchip & Free Rabies Clinics to Plainfield Residents

Plainfield residents are eligible for discounted rates for pet microchips that will register their pets to increase the likelihood of being found if lost. Microchips will be distributed to pets with licenses, which will be issued on-site. Plainfield Division of Health will be providing services on May 7th, May 14, May 21, and June 4th. 

Prevocational Services for Individuals with Disabilities by CAU

Community Access Unlimited is providing prevocational services to individuals with disabilities in Union County. Services include hands-on training, workplace boundaries, computer training, career planning, resume building, stress management, interview training, job shadowing, and adaptive equipment at the workplace. 

Bayway Family Success Center: Active Parenting Classes

The Bayway Family Success Center is currently offering an active parenting class for parents with children up to 12 years old. This class will show parents techniques and strategies to help children succeed at school and in the community and will emphasize discipline and communication. 

Community Service in Union County

S.H.OUT-U.C. offers a wide range of resources and volunteer opportunities that give middle/high school students (12-18) the best volunteer experience.

Personal Preference Program (PPP)

The Personal Preference Program (PPP) offers individuals with Medicaid insurance, who qualify for Personal Care Assistant Services, a way to direct and manage a monthly budget to receive counseling services in place of a traditional care assistant service provided through an agency. The family must be NJ Family Care Plan A eligible. 

Caring Contact

Caring Contact is a crisis hotline and suicide awareness educator serving North & Central New Jersey. There are about 80+ volunteer listeners that respond to more than 15,000 calls each year. 

Journey Toward Wholeness - Healing the Grieving Heart

A free 8-week Grief Recovery (Bereavement) Seminar offered by the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford. This seminar teaches tools for coping with grief by pairing you with a facilitator and a group with a similar loss.

Bilingual Support Group for Special Needs' Parents

FACT is hosting a parent support group every third Wednesday of the month to help you feel supported and encouraged as a parent. This effort is supported by Union County Children's Interagency Coordinating Council (CIACC).

Special Needs Parent Support Group

FACT and CAU are hosting a biweekly parent support group to help you feel supported and lifted as a parent. This effort is supported by Union County Children's Interagency Coordinating Council
(CIACC).

Maximum Community Care, NJ

Maximum Community Care is devoted to providing a holistic approach while delivering counseling and psychological services. The services shall include training and empowerment for various populations and providing culturally competent treatment measures for psychological disorders by incorporating empirical integrative approaches to addressing disorders.

    Trauma Recovery Center provides free supportive services to survivors of crime, domestic violence, and assaults. Services are offered to people who live in Essex County and the surrounding areas. Trauma Recover Center provides trauma therapy, psychiatrist support, and case management services.
