Youth Enrichment Service (YES) Program

The goal of the SBYSP Youth Enrichment Service (YES) Program is to provide safe, enriching, barrier-free services to augment the lives of our students so that they can successfully graduate and become productive members of society.

This program is grant-funded through the Department of Children and Families and is facilitated in partnership through Trinitas Regional Medical Center and the Elizabeth Board of Education.  Given the multitude of stressors that impact the lives of our students,  effective services require a multi-pronged approach. For this reason, our program provides full wraparound services, including Mental Health counseling, Vocational/Employment counseling, Pregnancy Prevention, Learning Support, Recreation, and much more.

These services are provided at no cost to the students to ensure equal access to these support systems. As part of the Elizabeth Public School District, we currently operate two YES  programs servicing over 600 young people in group and individual services each year. Through our events, summer program, and recreational activities, we are able to impact thousands more of these students.

Individual Therapy
Students can schedule an individual supportive counseling session with their assigned YES Program staff member. These sessions are offered during the school day to ensure that we are able to provide the support students need when they need it the most.

Group Therapy
The YES Program makes its best effort to provide students with groups throughout the year to meet a variety of students' needs. We offer many different topics and are always open to new ideas from our students! Our groups run during and after school - students should check in with group leaders to obtain the group schedules.

?Community Service & Recreation
The YES Program offers a variety of opportunities for students to obtain their 60 hours of community service required for graduation. We also plan exciting and fun trips for students to participate in throughout the year.
